In response to the many delicate requests I’ve had for more information about Karen’s passing, I will post this article. It’s one among many that are all over the internet. The gruesome reality is that she burned to death, to the point that they didn’t know which woman was which until they identified them using dental records.
Slowly, my sorrow is being replaced by anger at the unfairness and cruelty of it all. This couldn’t have been God’s plan for her.

My cousin Karen passed away a few days ago in Chicago. She was only 19.

Babel was amazing. Not for people who need such silly details to enjoy a movie.. like “plot” for instance.. but it was a truly human movie, organic and raw. For that, I lurrrve it.

Oh. So. Sore.
Went snowboarding for the first time this weekend. Sixteen people. Snowshoe Mountain. Zero broken bones. One rockin’ faceplant executed by the Strick. A killer time.
Top right is Kevin’s 30th birthday cake, delivered and set aflame by my loving hand. The darn store didn’t carry any more candles, otherwise we would have had a REAL blaze going! Happy 30th, my dear! I wish you a hundred years of happiness!
