BIG BLACK ASS

Another perfect weekend, the streak continues..
Last night we went to a bbq at a friend’s place in Adams Morgan - the weather couldn’t have been more perfect, the kind of cool weather where the sun warms your back. Good food, good friends - the only low point in the evening was when I was happily describing a funny email pic that has gone around email (see below). The phrase “BIG BLACK ASS” came out of my mouth a few times, and I didn’t realize that there were several black people sitting behind me. Of the “big” variety, at that. I didn’t mean it in any derogatory way at all of course, I was just being descriptive. But several sharp kicks in the shin from Kevin later, I was shamed into silence. Was uncomfortable for the 40 minutes following that point, when friends finally saved me by whisking me away from the bbq to smoke some hookah a few blocks away. I would like to point out for the record, I am not racist!! Can’t help it if the big ass happenned to be black. I’m not blind. Anyhoo.
Sunday morning I got up at the buttcrack (har har) of dawn, to walk six miles for the March of Dimes with some coworkers in memoriam of a child that passed away recently. Sobering and sad. Kevin on the other hand, along with his buddy, put out a fire, alert the authorities, saved a life or four, waited impatiently for the fire trucks to move out of the way so that he could scurry downtown in time to run a 10K race in support of the underfunded DC school system. Somebody’s got a Jack Bauer complex, not naming names 
We also played more xbox - I am improving at halo but I’m still a girl, and I still suck ass big time (har har again). But, I no longer run in small circles staring at my feet, which is a vast improvement. Kevin likes to run up behind me and punch me in the head, not very nice. He did surprise me by appearing in my face out of nowhere - I think he was trying to give me a chance to punch him back.. but I was so shocked that I threw a grenade right at his head and we both exploded. Whoops. Got to work on that reaction thing.
