HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy 2006!

Back at work now, and it looks outside the way I feel inside today. Grey and bleak. We should be able to ease back into work after the holidays.. like first a half day, then a full day. At least it is a shortened week.

So - when was the last time I posted? I don’t remember now. Had a lovely Christmas with the family - this was Kevin’s first Christmas here in DC with my peeps, so it was a change of scenery, both for him and for me. No palm trees for xmas this year, but that’s strange and unnatural anyway. He got to see my family scene in all of its glory.. screaming asians, mahjong tournaments, and the best Chinese food in town. Kevin became a pretty good mahjong player.. he can read Chinese numbers one through nine now, and earned extra brownie points by being even slower than my grandmother at the draw, to her delight :) Goooood gringo.

The day after Christmas I went butt crazy buying half priced ornaments for my tree next year. And I WILL have a tree, mwa-ha-ha! Spend new years eve over fondue and champagne at a friend’s house with a bunch of beautiful people and the two cutest dogs in the world, nice and relaxed. Love it. I am going to get a dog, maybe this is the year. Wait - isn’t it actually the year of the dog coming up? Coincidence?

Ok I’m making my new years resolutions public, so I can’t claim later on that I never had any to break in the first place..

  1. Maintain clean lungs.
  2. Be more organized, to the point of nauseum.. actually use new planner beyond the month of January (unlike past ten years).
  3. Eat healthier.
  4. While still honoring #3, try in every way to resemble physical likeness of either Nicole Scherzinger (lead singer of Pussycat Dolls), or Michelle Hu.
  5. Spend more time with friends. Throw more parties.
  6. Organize photo albums.
  7. Put together some sort of website where photos can be posted.
  8. Be ready by end of the year to run a half marathon.

Dream big! Aim high!
